Old Business:
Balloon Classic
– Marlowe reported that the Pueblo Sky Corral R/C Club has been asked to participate
in the 2016 Balloon Classic. Marlowe suggested that we coordinated our
activities with Sky Corral and maybe share display tables, manning assignments,
flying demos, etc.
Student
Training Qualification – Ed Vincent reported that he completed the rewrite
of our training manual and will email a copy to all the club instructors.
Fun-Fly – The next
scheduled event is Climb & Glide at 9:00AM on Saturday July 11th.
New Business
Club Field Maintenance - We had a long
discussion as to the condition of the field. It was pointed out that Dennis
Sporing was doing a great job of dragging and grooming the runway. The club unanimously
voted to award Dennis one gallon of glow fuel to compensate him for his
expenses. Marlowe reported that he talked to Dick Baker, the airport manager,
and Dick said he will have our area mowed. Garry Iovinella wanted us to
schedule a work day, but it was decided to wait until after the field was
mowed. Nobody stepped up to act as the Field Marshal and organize the work
party.
Awarding of
Wings – Larry Shivers completed the requirements for earning his
wings and was awarded his wings 1) - first by VP Dave Green with a pair of “found’
wings 2)- second by Pres Ed Vincent with the official AMA wings. See the
newsletter for pictures.
AMA Dues
Increase – This will take effect in 2016 and also includes AMA
raising rates on all their fees such as our club charter and license. It was
pointed out that AMA will accept advance payment on AMA dues at 2015 rates for
2016 & 2017, if done before Sept 1st.
Port-a-Potty
Service – Some of the members said service was required. Marlowe will
arrange for CaƱon Rental to do the job.
More Flight
Stands – We voted to give the go-ahead to Bobby Bellino to fabricate
two of the new “durable” flight stands. After the meeting Marlowe paid Bobby
for an advance on the materials and for the glow fuel for Dennis.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Marlowe D. Cassetti, Secretary/Treasurer
