First Fun-Fly of 2015!!

Can you believe it ??? Our first fun-fly happened Saturday. It took Cloyce to get everyone motivated and get started competing in a "Climb 'n Glide". And almost everyone there competed. Climb for 30 seconds and then glide for as long as possible (more on the "possible") and total flight time was recorded. So here are the results:

Pilot               Plane                  Time Min:Sec

Cloyce           Senorita             6:26
Dennis           Pilot                     4:14
Cloyce           Twist                   2:09
Ron                E-Stick                2:05
Bobby            Twist                   2:04
Marlowe        Drastik                 1:55
Larry              Arrow                   1:40
Gary              Arrow                   1:39

An interesting observation is how little time it takes from engine quit until meeting the ground unless you have a light, high wing plane.

In order to extend the "dead stick" landing, many of the pilots chose to stretch it too much resulting in some crashes. One Twist was destroyed and a Stick pancaked hard just to squeeze out a few extra seconds. But a good time was had by all.

Cloyce lecturing to a bunch of the guys.
Notice how the new, but incomplete, sunshade is being utilized by everyone who can fit underneath it.
